How it works

We continue to follow you before and after you reach goal.

  1. 1

Give your state, name and email. When care opens, a quick eligibility check comes before you pay. Preval covers prescription lipid management only.

  2. 2

    Clinician visit

A licensed clinician meets with you by video, takes your history, confirms Preval is a good fit and orders your labs.

  3. 3

    Labs

A lipid panel, ApoB and Lp(a) at a lab near you, or recent results you already have. Your clinician sets your goal from them.

  4. 4

    Treatment and follow-up

Your clinician can prescribe anything from a generic statin to a PCSK9 inhibitor, and we recheck your labs every quarter to reach goal and keep you there.

How lower LDL protects your arteries

Your arteries keep a running total of your LDL cholesterol (LDL-C), year after year. The lower your LDL and the sooner it comes down, the slower plaque builds.

European Atherosclerosis Society consensus

The artery drawing illustrates the cumulative LDL-C exposure concept and assumes an untreated LDL-C of 160 mg/dL, lowered to 55 mg/dL once treated. Your own result can differ. From our founder

Why I started Preval Health

You probably know someone who was considered low risk for a heart attack and still had one. Many heart attacks happen in people whose risk score looked low or moderate. I meet people like that quite often, and when I look back at their records, I usually find untreated high LDL cholesterol. We have excellent treatments that lower the risk of a heart attack, and many more people could benefit from them. I started Preval Health to make these medicines easy to get.

LDL-C lowering seen in clinical trials, alone or added to a statin. Medicines combine, so two together lower LDL-C further than either one. Your response can differ. Sources: ACC/AHA cholesterol guideline; FDA labels and pivotal trials.

Start with the medicine that fits your LDL.

Licensed clinicians prescribe FDA-approved medicines, from generic statins and ezetimibe to bempedoic acid and PCSK9 inhibitors. Medicines combine, so two together lower LDL further than either alone.

Insurance plans usually require a statin first. Paying cash skips that step, so you and your clinician can start with a PCSK9 inhibitor if your clinician thinks it fits.

If statins gave you side effects, see your options. For background on each medicine, read our guides.

Who it's for

Adults ready to treat high LDL or ApoB with prescription medicine.

Heart disease runs in your family

A parent or grandparent had a heart attack or a stent. You want your numbers lower than the lab's normal range.

You have labs and no plan

Function, Superpower or a physical flagged your LDL or ApoB. You want someone to act on it and follow up.

Your LDL runs a little high

Your risk score says you're fine, but your LDL has sat above goal for years. We aim for under 55; your clinician sets your final goal.

Statins aren't for you

You had side effects or would rather not take one. A PCSK9 inhibitor or another non-statin medicine can be your first medicine.

Licensed clinicians prescribe, and Preval works alongside your own doctors. See who we're not a fit for.
